AFSA Recommends Zero Tolerance Improvements to Congress and Professional Educators

Zero tolerance is a serious issue in public schools. In order to ensure a safe environment for children and staff members, school administrators must be provided with the resources to support alternative in-house educational settings to keep students off the streets, educational consistency when students are suspended that may include supervised community service during or after school hours, insuring due process rights, and adequate clinical services for students and parent/guardians. - March 21, 2008
