FAA Certifies Alakai Technologies’ Wireless Broadband Unit on Cirrus Aircraft -- Enables Affordable FOQA Reporting and Safety Improvements for General Aviation

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an amended Supplemental Type Certificate for installation of Alakai Technologies’ wireless Broadband Units on Cirrus SR20 and SR22 aircraft. The certification allows Alakai’s Broadband Units to be permanently installed on Cirrus aircraft, where they are used to upload flight data and embedded Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) results via secure Internet connections at the conclusion of every flight. - December 10, 2008
