Frigidaire Celebrates Canada

Toronto, Canada, June 30, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Just in time for Canada Day, Frigidaire Canada is celebrating 60 years of manufacturing quality cooking appliances in L’Assomption, Quebec with the launch of a new “See the Country Sweepstakes.” Starting on June 22, the promotion will give Canadians a chance to see their country through a “Made in Quebec” or “Made in Canada” Getaway.

“We are very proud of the fact that all of the Frigidaire appliances sold in North America are made in North America. But we feel particularly patriotic that all Frigidaire cooking appliances are manufactured in Canada at our L’Assomption plant,” says Stephanie Clarke, Marketing Manager for Electrolux Major Appliance Canada. “The ‘See the Country Sweepstakes’ is an excellent opportunity to reward our consumer base while we do a little flag waving as Canada’s largest manufacturer of home grown cooking appliances.”

With no purchase necessary, prizing for the promotion is determined by region. Consumers in Quebec are invited to enter to win a “Made in Quebec” Getaway, including: a five day cycling tour in the beautiful Gaspé region, return airfare for two, and $500 in spending money (approximate retail value $5,000). Consumers in the rest of Canada can enter to win a “Made in Canada” Getaway, including: a two day Red Leaf Rocky Mountain Excursion from Calgary to Vancouver, return airfare for two, and $500 in spending money (approximate retail value $5,000).

Frigidaire will also provide ten Canadian-made Frigidaire stainless steel ranges as other prizing (approximate retail value $1,449 per range).

Developed by Frigidaire’s marketing & communications agency scratch, the “See The Country” Sweepstakes is being promoted through in-store POP, magazine, online banners and on the Frigidaire Canada website. Consumers can enter simply by visiting www.frigidairecanada.ca and clicking on the promotion link.

Made in Canada, Made in Quebec mail in rebate
To coincide with the “See the Country” promotion, Frigidaire Canada is also offering customers a mail in rebate on the purchase of any qualifying Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery Series or Frigidaire Professional Series cooking appliance. The Made in Canada, Made in Quebec mail in rebate is valid from June 22 to July 5, 2006. Customers can receive up to $100 in mail in rebate per appliance.
