The Vision of Children Foundation Welcomes Sycuan and County of San Diego as Sponsors of Concert for a Cure
Two Organizations Join Local Businesses in Supporting Key Fundraising Effort of VOC, a Non-profit Organization Focused on Finding a Cure for Hereditary Childhood Blindness.
San Diego, CA, March 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Vision of Children Foundation (VOC), a non-profit organization focused on finding a cure for hereditary childhood blindness, today announced that the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation and the County of San Diego have signed on as sponsors of the VOC’s Concert for a Cure. This year’s concert features the Fab Four, the ultimate Beatles tribute, and is a key fundraiser for the foundation.
Sycuan and the County of San Diego join Qualcomm, The Hardage Group, Mira Mesa Optometry, Tommy Bahama, Barefoot Wine, CG Communications, About Style Photography by Doyle, The Rancho Santa Fe Review, Del Mar Village Voice, and Carmel Valley News in supporting the benefit concert to be held on May 2, 2009 in the state-of-the-art Irwin M. Jacobs Qualcomm Hall located in Sorrento Valley.
“We whole-heartedly welcome these Concert for a Cure sponsors,” said Sam Hardage, Chairman and founder of the Vision of Children Foundation. “Sycuan’s generosity and support of charities and non-profits is widely recognized and appreciated. And we are thankful for our County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price’s grant through the county’s Community Projects Grant Program. With successful gene therapy trials completed last year, we are close to a cure. Additional funding to keep the momentum going is needed now, more than ever. Our annual benefit concert and continued support from donors are what enable us to keep the research going.”
“There are countless struggles associated with raising a sight-impaired child. But through the admirable work of Vision of Children and its network of supporters, you do not need to do it alone. I proudly support this organization in their efforts to find a cure for hereditary childhood blindness,” Vice-Chairwoman Slater-Price added.
The Beatles-themed evening promises to deliver a groovy time. Cocktails and hor d'oeuvres will be served in an electrifying sixties atmosphere to build up the right vibe for the concert that is sure to rock the house. The Fab Four is elevated far above every other Beatles Tribute Band due to their precise attention to detail. With uncanny, note-for-note live renditions of Beatles' songs, the Fab Four will make you think you are watching the real thing. Their incredible stage show includes three costume changes representing every era of the Beatles ever-changing career. This loving tribute to the Beatles has amazed audiences around the world, including Japan, Malaysia, France, Hong Kong, The United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico and Brazil and includes record-perfect live performances of such classics as "Can't Buy Me Love," "Yesterday," "A Day In The Life," "Penny Lane," "Here Comes The Sun,” and "Hey Jude."
