Tri Zones Training Provides Classes to Help Women Cross the Finish Line at Their First Triathlon
Tri Zones offers swim clinics and triathlon training programs in Austin, TX for women preparing for the Danskin Women’s Triathlon and Trek Women’s Triathlon.
Austin, TX, March 14, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Tri Zones Training will provide swim clinics for triathletes preparing for upcoming spring triathlons, including the Danskin Women’s Triathlon and Trek Women’s Triathlon. In addition to the swim clinics, Tri Zones is offering a 10-week women’s training program leading up to Danskin, featuring four teams: North, South, North by Northwest, and Weekday Mornings.
The majority of new triathletes express the most concern about the swim leg of the race. Under the direction of Coach Lisa Denison, Tri Zones is offering swim clinics to help ease the fears and concerns of beginner triathletes.
In the Beginner swim clinic, the freestyle stroke will be broken down and built back up to improve efficiency for endurance swimming. Topics covered will include optimal body alignment and position, proper breathing technique, correct arm stroke (above and below the water), kicking technique, stamina building tips, and much more.
Tri Zones is also offering an Intermediate swim clinic for those who are comfortable in the water and who want to improve their swim technique. Topics covered include freestyle stroke analysis, essential strength swimming “toys” and drills, pace clock tips, and much more. Coaches will offer video analysis of the swimmers in the Intermediate clinic.
The swim clinics will be held on Saturday, March 14, at Nitro Swim Center in Cedar Park. The Beginner clinic will be from 12:30 – 2:30pm, and the Intermediate clinic will be from 3:00 – 6:30pm. Tri Zones will offer similar swim clinics again in April and in May.
Along with the swim clinics, Tri Zones Training continues to offer their training programs for women who are training for spring triathlons, including the Danskin Women’s Triathlon, Trek Women’s Triathlon, and Skeese Greets Women’s Tri.
Tri Zones has added a new women’s team in 2009 which meets on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30 – 11:30am. This will appeal to women who have children in school or otherwise have time during the day to meet with a training group. Three other teams meet on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings and are geographically located – North Austin, South Austin, and Round Rock/Cedar Park. Each team offers two levels – First Tri (for beginners), and Tri, Tri Again (for those with triathlon experience).
The Tri Zones Women’s Training Program will begin on March 28 and last through June 10, 2009. Teams meet twice weekly for coach-led workouts including pool swims, bike rides, run workouts, brick workouts, and transition practice.
Tri Zones also offers an Intermediate training program for experienced triathletes who wish to improve skills and performance while maintaining camaraderie. The Intermediate training program offers tracks for a variety of distances, including Sprint, Olympic, and Half Ironman.
