Suburban Warrior Challenge II Kettlebell Fitness Competition Results
Fullerton, CA, April 08, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MBody Strength hosted the second Suburban Warrior Challenge kettlebell fitness competition on March 28, 2009. The event, held in Fullerton, California featured a 2.8 mile weighted hike and kettlebell exercise portions.
“We upped the difficulty for the second Suburban Warrior Challenge by increasing the distance, the difficulty of the trail, and the exercises involved,” stated Marcus Martinez, MBody Strength’s founder and member. “I’m was very impressed with the results of the competitors.”
During the Suburban Warrior Challenge II fitness competition, men had to carry a 60lb pack and an 18lb kettlebell and perform 100 snatches with a 53lb kettlebell. Women had to carry a 25lb pack and a 9lb kettlebell and perform 100 snatches and 100 clean and presses with an 18lb kettlebell.
The fitness competition was held on the Panorama Trail in Fullerton, California. While parts of the 2.8 mile trail consisted of packed dirt, about a half mile of it is up hill on gravel at a 30 degree grade. MBody Strength owner Marcus Martinez completed the challenge in a little over 52 minutes, setting the pace for the entire competition.
Larry Cohn won the men’s competition with a time of 1 hour, 34 minutes. Linda Varga won the women’s competition with a time of 47 minutes. Each winner of the competition received a new Apollo kettlebell.
MBody Strength offers a variety of methods for helping people prepare for competition, including boot camps, workshops, personal training, and a free workout guide online. The next Suburban Warrior Challenge kettlebell competition will be held on May 9, 2009 in Huntington Beach, California. This one will differ from the first two in that it will be held on the sand and may feature other conditioning equipment like sandbags.
“We’d like to thank everyone who participated in our kettlebell competition,” said Marcus Martinez. “The Suburban Warrior Challenge continues to grow and we hope that the next one will be even bigger.”
