Fit Squad Reacts to Economic Challenges with New Small-Group Personal Training Program

Introduction of new flexible training programs by Fit Squad highlights the need for in-home personal training businesses to adapt to today’s economic climate.

Toronto, Canada, May 21, 2009 --(PR.com)-- In response to the increasingly wary consumer market, Fit Squad has today announced its intentions to introduce new small-group programming options that open its services and offer increased flexibility to the new savvy customer.

Fit Squad offers individual personal training to customers at their home, outdoors, or at any particular location the client feels most comfortable and has to date focused on customized programs for the individual person. President of Fit Squad, Rouven Buergel, commented that "regular operations are still running well and we are happy to see our trainers succeed in a tough economy but we understand the importance of adapting to the current economic client."

A recent survey of 926 personal trainers by IDEA Health and Fitness Association revealed that though one-one-one training is the most frequently offered form of training, group training is consistently gaining popularity.

Buergel said that the move to widen the company’s services to include group training “offers many people the chance to relieve the stress of economic pressure through exercise yet at a cost much lower than that which individual training demands”. He stated that ‘although many would expect the fitness industry to suffer when expendable income is furiously monitored, exercise provides much-needed stress relief at a time of intense pressure and many workers actually see huge benefit in such an investment’.

Buergel’s comments are reiterated by others in the industry. Many agree that fitness offers social and health benefits while being considerably cheaper than traveling or eating out during the week.

Fit Squad’s new small group training program will enable clients to exercise with a professional personal trainer in group of 3 to 6 people. Training sessions will be conducted outdoors or in a boutique fitness studio located in downtown Toronto and clients will enjoy the benefits of personalized service at a fraction of the cost. Rates for sessions range on average between 50 and 100 dollars for individual training, but the new small group training program will offer consumers a range of 20 to 35 dollars depending on the size of the group – a considerable reduction for the client.

“We hope that small group training encourages pressured workers to get involved in fitness and offset the ill-effects of stress by exercising with others and investing a only a small amount of their hard earned dollars” said Mr Buergel of the new program.
