MBody Strength Announces Fourth Suburban Warrior Challenge
Brea, CA, June 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- MBody Strength has announced the Suburban Warrior Challenge 4, a kettlebell and weighted hiking competition that is set for June 20, 2009 in Huntington Beach, California. This latest version of the kettlebell challenge will feature new exercises, including the Figure 8 to Hold and kettlebell Push Press.
“After the success of the Suburban Warrior Challenge 3 competition in Bolsa Chica State Beach, we decided to do another one on the sand, with one twist,” stated Marcus Martinez, MBody Strength’s founder and member, “the course is 1.2 miles longer, and part of the hike will be on top of the cliffs in Huntington Beach.”
Just like the other Suburban Warrior Challenge kettlebell competitions, participants will need to carry a weighted backpack containing a kettlebell in addition to another kettlebell they carry in their hands. This competition will have two classes, one for women, who will have a weighted backpack containing a 26lb (12kg) kettlebell and carry a 9lb (4kg) kettlebell in their hands, and one for men who will have a weighted backpack containing a 53lb (24kg) kettlebell and carry an 18lb (8kg) kettlebell in their hands.
The participants will stop at three points along the hike to perform exercises: the Figure 8 to Hold, Push Press, and Push Ups. Men will perform 100 reps of each exercise with the 53lb (24kg) kettlebell while women will perform 100 reps of the Figure 8 to Hold and Push Press using the 26lb (12kg) kettlebell and 50 Push Ups.
People of all fitness levels are welcome to attend the fitness competition. MBody Strength will provide all necessary equipment, including weighted hiking backpacks and kettlebells. MBody Strength is the creator of the KettleBack™, the first and only kettlebell backpack designed specifically for hiking. In addition, MBody Strength trainers will be on site to teach participants the exercises to be performed during the event.
The event is set for June 20, 2009 between the hours of 8:00AM and 12:00PM. The Suburban Warrior Challenge 4 will start and end on the beach just south of PCH and 9th Street in Huntington Beach, California. Participants can register online at www.MBodyStrength.com. Registration prior to June 20, 2009 will be $15; registration on the day of the event will be $20. All forms must be complete prior to starting the event.
“The Suburban Warrior Challenge competitions exemplify the benefits of unconventional fitness: high-efficiency full-body exercise,” said Marcus Martinez. “The Suburban Warrior Challenge 4 will be the greatest challenge yet for participants.”
