Union City, NJ, November 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Day Spa Association and the International Medical Spa Association are proud to announce the appointment of Michael Loh as their newly appointed representative to lead the Asia-Pacific chapter.
“Michael is known as an industry mentor, inspirational presenter and in particular for his enthusiasm for the industry and in inspiring excellence. Founding the very first and highly recognized trade and consumer publication, SpaAsia paved his journeys across Asia-Pacific between 2002–2006 before the inception of its sister publication, SpaArabia in 2007. Spearheading with his relentless passion for the well-being of the spa and wellness industry, Michael continued boldly to champion the leading and well respected industry event – The Wellness Summit - a globally recognized event since 2005. He is constantly coaxing the industry to achieve excellence. Consistent to this he has also conceptualized and evolved the highly regarded “The Crystal Awards” for Asia-Pacific to a now global initiative through Global Ratings & Audit Solutions (GRAS). GRAS is an entity with a network of global spa professional alliance and by 2012, aims to roll-out a global rating system for the spa and wellness industry.
"Michael is a true visionary who has had a profound impact on the development of the spa and wellness industry across Asia and around the globe. He is passionate about empowering, inspiring, and educating others", said Eric Light, President of the International Medical Spa Association and Chair Person of the International Committee of the Day Spa Association. Mr. Light went on to say, "Michael's foresight, coupled with his entrepreneurial expertise and knowledge of the global spa and wellness industry, will give the IMSA+DSA the leadership it needs to remain at the forefront during this time of explosive growth in the wellness industry."
His instinctive and creative flair is complemented by the years he has spent observing and learning from the industry as it progressed from its infancy to its present state. The industry is now moving towards the threshold of a transition that will inevitably see it converging with the greater domain of health, specifically intelligent ageing and integrated medicine. Recognizing the evolution of the state of Consciousness that is shaping the current state of consumerism across the world, he now advocates to the revolution of Wellness business models that will uniquely position his latest Ageless projects and Ageless Festival, each of which are poised to excel in their respective channels of delivery.
“We are each the administrator of our own lives – you can choose to remain where you and yet be able to discover and begin experiencing what it means to be a conscious and purposeful creator of events, conditions and circumstances that make up your life experiences. The path that I have paved, with the aid of many that had touched my life, led me now towards ensuring the convergence of seemingly separate industries and facilitating them through the smoothest of transitions,” says Michael Loh when asked about why it is now the time for him to serve the industry.
