Sport Science Lab Unveils New Football Speed Workouts in New Online Football Workout Zone

Sport Science Lab announces launching of The Football Zone that offers unique, sport specific exercises and nutritional tips for a competitive edge.

San Juan Capistrano, CA, February 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Sport Science Lab, espousing the re-definition of athletic training by focusing on re-training the Central Nervous System (CNS), recently launched a football workout zone on their web site. The Football Zone offers a variety of proprietary, specific routines and nutritional tips that can be used by anyone at any age wanting to improve their athleticism for this demanding sport.

“Football demands that an athlete have many diverse abilities. First and foremost they need speed. It doesn’t matter if they're a receiver, running back, linebacker or lineman--speed is the most important asset an athlete can have on the football field” states Gavin MacMillan, founder of Sport Science Lab, seven-sport athlete and trainer for NFL, NBA, MLB and NCAA athletes.

“Unfortunately the traditional systems focus on size, using conventional weightlifting to fulfill the need for body mass and totally disregarding the negative effects on speed and the potential for injury. This is the reason we developed this set of football speed workouts.” Gavin concluded.

Sport Science (SSL) methodology re-trains the Central Nervous System to fire muscles faster & in the proper sequence for each specific sport. (Weight training imprints the totally wrong sequence).

The dominating factor in elite athletics, ignored by all conventional training methods, is speed-strength---which comes from the ability to store & use elastic energy. The new football speed workouts are designed to build the all important speed-strength.

“Football just isn't about strength...it's about the fine line between being flexible and having strength. The methods Sport Science Lab has developed over 40 years are simply better. No one can argue with the success that they have had with NFL, college and high school athletes” says Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sport Science Lab has been training all levels of athletes such as Troy Polamalu, Tyson Chandler, Sione Pouha, Mark Anderson, the LA Sol, et al for nearly a decade. In addition to re-training the CNS, SSL methodology calls for training the feet first because every athletic move begins with the feet. This training is unique in that the feet are a part of the anatomy that is neglected by nearly all traditional training methodologies.
