Anderson-McQueen Named Top Relay for Life Sponsor
St. Petersburg, FL, May 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Anderson-McQueen Family Tribute Centers is named top sponsor at St. Petersburg High School’s Relay for Life event May 14 – 15, 2010. A total of 19 teams are participating that include the Social Security Administration and The Sembler Company. Over 200 participants have raise over $12,000 in efforts to fight cancer.
“We are honored to take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer,” said John McQueen, vice-president and COO of Anderson-McQueen.
“The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease,” said Angela McAuley, Suncoast Area Executive Director for the American Cancer Society, Florida Division. “We are very grateful for Anderson-McQueen to support such a worthy cause.”
The opening ceremony will include the traditional survivors lap and will continue on into the evening with the luminary ceremony. The event theme is reality television shows. All the participants will be decorating their camps and participating in activities relating to such shows as Survivor, Top Chef, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.
