Certified Duo Team Up for Workshop on How to Plan Healthy Meals and Get Your Kitchen and Pantry Under Control
Certified Clinical Nutritionist Kay Spears and Certified Professional Organizer Helene Segura team up for an interactive workshop in San Antonio on how to create healthy meal plans and organize your kitchen and pantry.
San Antonio, TX, May 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- LivingOrder® San Antonio, the premier efficiency and productivity consulting firm in San Antonio, announced today that the company will host another installment in the Solutions for Women Workshop Series on Saturday, May 22, 2010, from 9:30 until 11:30 A.M. at the Oakdell Wellness Center.
"So many people start the year off talking about diets and losing weight, then things kind of fizzle out. That's because people are crash dieting instead of making healthy lifestyle changes. One of those changes is learning what healthy foods are. And people also need to know how much of the healthy food to eat and how to prepare it," said Kay Spears, Certified Clinical Nutritionist.
"Compounding this challenge is that many people have disorganized kitchens and pantries, so they can't find what they need to cook healthy meals. They also struggle with managing their time and can't quite fit the meal planning into their schedule. It's important to get these areas in order so that the healthy life changes can happen," added Helene Segura, owner of LivingOrder San Antonio.
A study called "The Progressive Increase of Food Waste in America and Its Environmental Impact" published by the Laboratory of Biological Modeling, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases in Bethesda, Maryland, found that "U.S. per capita food waste has progressively increased by 50% since 1974." In individual households, part of the food waste comes from people hopping from diet to diet or food rotting when meals aren't planned or people are unaware of what their food inventory is. Whirlpool Home Appliances and The GLAD Products Company reported that "a majority of people (61 percent) throw out at least one produce item a week because it's no longer fresh. In addition, 51 percent of people have a hard time finding items in their refrigerator because it's over-crowded."
Certified Clinical Nutritionist Kay Spears will guide workshop participants in developing their customized meal plans that will keep them healthy and energized.
Certified Professional Organizer Helene Segura will teach attendees how to set up a kitchen and pantry that are conducive to healthy cooking, plus help them develop a personalized management system that will keep order and organization in the heart of the home.
