Free Family Health and Sports Fair in Oklahoma City
Local families can come and enjoy a free health fair. Many valuable prizes including a 7 night stay at a Disney World Resort Hotel will be given away. Take advantage of free health screenings and gather cutting edge information and samples from experts on a wide variety of health issues. Medical experts will be available to answer questions, make appointments and give suggestions that may help our community gain better control of life and live it to its fullest.
Oklahoma City, OK, May 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The OKC Health and Wellness Group is sponsoring a Free Family Health and Sports Expo starting at 10a.m. June 12, 2010 at the Biltmore Hotel in Oklahoma City.
The OKC Health and Wellness Group,Ltd. along with the Biltmore Hotel Oklahoma is hosting a Free Family Health and Sports Expo, Saturday June 12 from 10am to 3pm in the south building. The location is 401 S. Meridian at I40 in Oklahoma City. They encourage parents and grandparents to come out with kids to learn more about what Oklahomans can do to keep their families healthy.
The activities planned for the kids include Smiley O’Riley from Dental Depot, Ms. Katie Leigh with Itty Bitty Dittys for kids, OKC Fire Department, a Red Dirt Ready station, a Sugar Shack and health food station, beaded jewelry, a magician and other fun activities. These and more fun activities will be going on in the Atrium in the south building at the Biltmore Hotel.
In the main ballrooms there will be several 30 minute mini-lecture events including topics such as: “The State of Nutrition In Our Food Today” given by Jim Rhoades, Nationally known Nutritionist, “Change Your Mind. . . Change Your Life” given by Dr. Don White, Clinical Hypnotherapist; “Preventing Sports Injuries” shared by Dr. Scott Waugh, MD; “Anti-Aging Strategies and the Benefits of Anti-Oxidants” given by Dr. Angela Collymore-Slovak, Ph.D.; “Environmental Culprits” given by Vicki Latham, PA-C; “Pain Management Alternatives” given by Dr. Vonda Shawver, DC; and more.
The presentations will be summed up with an “Ask the Experts” session. This is where the the audience can gather specific information about their own health concerns, book appointments or consultations, visit the wide range of vendors that will be giving out free samples and information about specific products available that may help families to achieve their health and wellness goals.

The OKC Health and Wellness Group, Ltd., is a newly formed non-profit organization founded by Angela Collymore-Slovak, PhD. Dr. Collymore-Slovak is an adjunct professor of Life Science, small business owner and leads an busy lifestyle with her family, which includes two young children. Dr. Collymore-Slovak felt the urgency to reach out to her community and promote education on wellness issues where there is always a way to incorporate her favorite subject, science. She approached leaders in the Oklahoma City wellness community and formed a strong alliance of professionals with the same desire. Every member of our board is devoted to the education of Oklahomans on issues such as: pain management alternatives; healthy lifestyle choices, Nutrition, benefits of massage therapy, hair loss prevention, and the importance of hormone balancing. The teachings and any featured products are considered natural, chemical free and in many cases certified Vegan. We are excited to offer a forum for healthy living practices here in Oklahoma City.
