FFC’s 12-Week Ultimate Fitness & Nutrition Program Enters Its 16th Year
The 12-Week Ultimate Fitness & Nutrition Program enters its 16th year, beginning Monday, September 13 at all FFC locations.
Chicago, IL, August 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- It is common for programs in the fitness industry to come and go. Fitness has had its fads over the years – Tae Bow, spandex, and a whole slur of crash diets, but one program that never goes out of style is finding a well balanced fitness and nutrition program which teaches you the value of diet and exercise to use over and over again. Fitness Formula Clubs (FFC’s) 12-Week Ultimate Fitness & Nutrition Program has done just that. Incepted in the early 1990’s, this program has gained popularity amongst the hundreds of FFC members it has assisted.
The 12-Week Ultimate Fitness & Nutrition Program enters its 16th year, beginning Monday, September 13 at all FFC locations. There will be a complimentary informational meeting at each location on Wednesday, September 8. The program is for any one who would like to lose 5 to 20 pounds, work with a personal trainer but otherwise could not afford the price of individual sessions, needs direction in their eating habits, as well as desires the camaraderie of a workout partner. Participants choose from a variety of days/times for their personal training sessions. Group outings are planned in advance which include a grocery tour where participants walk through the aisles with a Registered Dietician and learn to read nutrition labels, discover new healthy eating options, and also participate in a dining out lecture, where they eat out as a group and learn about portion sizes and ordering out.
The 12-Week Program includes:
- 24 group personal training sessions, twice a week for three months
- A private nutrition consultation with a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist
- The ActivTrax nutrition component – a newly added feature that assists in daily calorie tracking, a food and exercise diary, as well as supplying grocery lists.
- Three group lectures by a Registered Dietician
- Cardiovascular training guidance
- Three evaluations by the FFC Personal Training staff to track results.
“I have been spearheading this program since 2008, and every member who completes the program reiterates that the group support and encouragement they receive throughout the course is wonderful,” says Kristen Vencill, Fitness Specialist at FFC Halsted Street. “We host an orientation for members where they learn what the program includes, choose from available training times, and we also encourage them to attend a training session so they know what to expect.”
Vencill assists with the three evaluations where members get assessed by measurement, weight, and percentage of body fat. Assessments are taken at the start of the program, mid-point, and at the end of the program. “It’s great for both me and the members to see they have significantly decreased their body fat while increasing their muscle mass,” says Vencill.
“By participating in twice weekly small group training sessions I have seen myself and my fellow 12-weekers getting stronger and meeting our fitness goals,” says FFC member and 12-Week participant Beth Hackett. “I remember in the beginning watching some of the other women and wondering if I would be able to lift as much or do as many exercises, and now I can! The great part is that now, I have been able to share those feelings with newer group members (this is my second time in the program), and it is reassuring that we all have our personal starting points and have all seen success in a period of time. Working out in a small group keeps us doing our best, trying and motivating each other to do well.”
Several members like Hackett will complete the program more than once over the course of a year. The cost for the 12-Week Ultimate Fitness and Nutrition Program for an FFC member is $499. Non-member pricing is also available. For more information, contact FFC’s Regional Director of Fitness Scott Lewandowski at sl@ffc.com.
