The Parent Coaching Institute Celebrates Its 10th Birthday
The Parent Coaching Institute, after 10 years of operation, continues to raise the bar and set the highest standards in the nation for Parent Coach Certification®.
Bellevue, WA, September 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Parent Coaching Institute (The PCI™), was legally formed on Sept. 15, 2000. Founder and CEO Gloria DeGaetano says, “I founded the PCI in 2000 with a dream of a new way to support parents based on leading-edge change process theories and a unique coaching model. I wanted to create, not only a training program, but also an institute that would be a ‘container’ for like-minded professionals to support one another in their highest potential and most creative expression.”
Today The PCI attracts students for parent coach training who are professionals in counseling, teaching, social work, community health, and parent education from across the U. S. and Canada. The institute offers the exclusive graduate-level Parent Coaching Certificate®, as well as ongoing support for its graduates, such as business resources, leadership retreats, and continuing education through workshops and seminars, featuring award-winning speakers and authors such as Robert Quinn and Jane Healy.
The innovative, year-long, distance-learning program operates under the auspices of the Department of Education at Seattle Pacific University. The Parent Coach Certification® Training curriculum, written and developed by Gloria DeGaetano, over a three-year period, is a synthesis of brain-mind research, family support tools, best practices, and coaching techniques, uniquely adapted to the needs of modern-day parents. The PCI is currently enrolling for the Winter Quarter, with phone classes to begin the week of January 10, 2011. The institute provides a $900 tuition discount to those who apply before November 15. Learn more about application requirements and deadlines at www.ThePCI.org.
“My past 30 years of experience and growing awareness of the dire need for effective ways to meet parents’ needs, served me well to create a compelling, comprehensive, and exciting program,” says DeGaetano. “I am ever grateful for those experiences and for my drive and passion to provide new tools for families and a coherent framework for professionals who support families.”
The Parent Coaching Institute achieved non-profit 501(c)(3) status on March 17, 2009, in order to expand its parent coaching services to family support agencies and families in need. Today, in addition to training and supporting heart-centered, professionals through its Parent Coach Certification® program, The PCI conducts studies on the PCI Coaching Model and collaborates with organizations, agencies, and schools to provide its parent coaching services, providing new levels of family fulfillment to moms and dads.
