Buddhist Monk Visits Asheville, NC

John Orr, a well known buddhist monk and Duke University Professor will lead a meditation for those interested in gaining more focus and mindfulness.

Asheville, NC, December 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Asheville Meditation Group in Asheville, North Carolina is very excited to be hosting a meditation event (Tuesday, January 4, 2011 @ 7pm) lead by John Orr: a well-known and respected meditation teacher.

John Orr is a former Theravadin Buddhist monk who spent eight years in monastic training in Thailand and India. He has been teaching meditation since 1979 and lives in the Durham area of North Carolina, where he does interpersonal counseling and teaches at Duke University.

“John has been generous and sweet to agree to lead our Tuesday evening meditation, right after finishing leading a weeklong intensive meditation retreat in Hot Spring’s Southern Dharma Retreat Center”, says Ronya Banks - Asheville Meditation Group’s leader.
