Porch Step Introduces 5 Simple Things Challenge
Contest Kick-Starts Meaningful New Year’s Resolutions
Knoxville, TN, December 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Today, Porch Step, a lifestyle media company, will launch its 5 Simple Things Challenge. The challenge is born from author John Tolsma’s recently published book, Five Simple Things - a daily guidebook and journal that shows readers how to refocus on what matters most – faith, family, and the future. The Challenge does more than just reward participants for making resolutions; its simple daily principles help people achieve goals.
“Every year, people embrace one or more New Year’s resolutions, with enthusiasm and focus,” says author and CEO of Porch Step John Tolsma. “But, as the year goes on, life gets complicated; people get busy. Only about 46% tend to keep their resolutions for six months or longer. The 5 Simple Things Challenge is a different kind of campaign, providing incentive and support to help people meet resolutions that will bring about the positive results they’ve sought.”
The 5 Simple Things Challenge incents the winner with $2500 to accomplish a goal they’ve had in mind, whether it is taking a college course, learning a new hobby, spending quality time with family, or giving back to the community.
Prior to launching the nation-wide contest, Porch Step posted its 30-day 5 Simple Things Challenge on its website (www.PorchStep.com/5SimpleThings/). Among those participating in the challenge was mommy blogger Felicia Pinkney, (www.themombeat.com).
“Breaking up my major tasks into four per day has been a lot more manageable since I began the challenge. And even if I didn’t do every business-related thing on my list, I felt so much better knowing that I had accomplished other goals, such as more snuggle time with my hubby and kids.”
For more information, or to submit your story along with a video, explaining how you would use the $2500, visit www.5SimpleThingsChallenge.com. The Challenge winner will be announced on February 7, 2011.
