Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen Debuts Dec. 31 in Peoria's Vistancia
Valley Chef Charles Wade Schwerd and Managing Partner Christina Ricke out to change the way Arizonans feel about food.
Peoria, AZ, December 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Arizona-inspired food takes center stage Dec. 31 as the latest restaurant concept for renowned Valley chef Charles Wade Schwerd opens.
From Sonoran wood-fired chicken to a special pork pozole that you won’t find anywhere else, Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen is out to change the way Arizonans feel about food.
“I’ve spent my whole life in this wonderful state and without a doubt the special flavors and dishes of the area have inspired me,” Schwerd said. “Blu Agave is a reflection of those influences and interests.”
Located in the community of Vistancia in Peoria, Blu Agave Arizona Kitchen reflects Schwerd’s culinary pedigree but without any pretension. The casual interior invites you to relax, the outside patio allows you to drink in the surrounding desert views and the private dining room and gorgeous bar fit your dining needs.
“We really wanted to create something that the whole family could enjoy without Mom and Dad worrying about breaking the bank,” said Schwerd, talking about a menu that offers kids a “build your own” menu and parents such delicious fare as Argentinean gaucho steak and Mexican street tacos. “We’re pretty confident that Blu Agave accomplishes that mission.”
Schwerd, who also owns Arrowhead Grill in Glendale, said the time was right for expansion and the Vistancia area was ripe for a restaurant its residents could call their own.
“I think the northwest Valley is hungry for a change of pace, a restaurant that caters to the tastes of its residents and does so while remaining independent, free of the blandness that so often accompanies a chain restaurant,” said Christina Ricke, managing partner and a resident of Vistancia. “Arizonans are independent and I think they like their food that way, too.”
