Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco Announces New Executive Director

Ronald McDonald® House of San Francisco is pleased to announce its new Executive Director, Lois Moore. She has been recruited to lead and expand the increasing needs of the nonprofit organization by reinforcing its mission to provide a home away from home to families of seriously ill children.

San Francisco, CA, September 08, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Ronald McDonald® House of San Francisco is pleased to announce its new Executive Director, Lois Moore. She has been recruited to lead and expand the increasing needs of the nonprofit organization by reinforcing its mission to provide a home away from home to families of seriously ill children.

Moore has spent nearly 20 years working in nonprofit management positions and will bring her executive acumen to the team by offering in-depth financial management experience, strategic planning, annual capital and endowment campaign planning and execution, community education supervision and marketing and branding, along with board and volunteer recruitment and development.

“Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco is a home away from home and a haven of hope for families with seriously ill children. I am excited about joining the team of extraordinary board members, staff and volunteers who roll up their sleeves and contribute their talents, energy and insights on behalf of the families the Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco serves,” said Moore. Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco is governed and run by a 15 member board, three full time staff members, three part-time staff and countless volunteers.

“Lois’ background and areas of expertise are perfectly suited to the needs of the Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco,” said board president Dr. Bob Piecuch. “I believe she is the perfect ticket for our team and will enable us to move our organization to a successful capital campaign, continue to help the House evolve and increase the quality of services we provide to the families at the House.” Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco is responsible for generating nearly 85% of its annual operating budget.

Prior to joining Ronald McDonald House of San Francisco, Moore served as the Development Director for Seva Foundation in Berkeley, where she was credited for helping to raise contributions of historic proportions to the organization. Moore has successfully completed five major capital, program expansion and endowment campaigns. She also is a volunteer consultant to nonprofits in developing countries, helping increase communication with prospective donors in the United States while supporting strategic planning and organizational development efforts. Moore has served as Development and Marketing Director at The Parkinson’s Institute, Director of External Affairs at The Asia Foundation and Assistant Development Director at the San Francisco Opera.

Moore received a Masters Degree in English from the University of Chicago and has received leadership and management training from the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University and at The Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, California.
