One Space Launches Free Online Learning Courses to Empower Single Parents Living with Poverty

Bristol, United Kingdom, February 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The online learning courses help to up-skill single parents in current work practices so that they can gain and maintain successful employment.

The interactive learning modules are easy to follow and available 24 hours a day to enable lone parents to fit their self-development around family commitments and work at their own pace.

The free online courses build self-esteem and improve the key skills necessary for success in today’s challenging labour market. Modules include: ‘Life Coaching’, to build self-esteem, ‘Dealing with Stress’ and ‘Assertiveness’, whilst The ‘Grow your Group’ course is a step-by-step guide to starting a supportive and sustainable self-help group for single parents locally. ‘Ways to Work’ shows single parents how to improve their employability and create a compelling CV.

Single parents are helped to identify gaps in their skills and experience and to tackle these with further study, work experience or volunteering.
