Uniquely Yours Personal Training Organizes Burlington Pushups for Charity Challenge
Regular Joe's & Jane's compete in a pushups challenge, organized by Uniquely Yours Personal Training, to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project.
Burlington, IA, April 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- April 16th is declared National Pushups for Charity Day. People here in Burlington will gather at 9 AM on April 16th at First Church of the Nazarene to do as many pushups as they can in 90 seconds. Every pushup raises money for severely injured men and women of the U.S. Armed Services.
100 of the leading fitness service providers across the country have joined together to declare April 16th National Pushups for Charity Day, and are putting the resources and effort into this cause to make it so. It is an act of pure will to help those who have sacrificed so much for America.
"All of us have two values in common," says Liz Modrell of Uniquely Yours Personal Training, the leading provider of guaranteed results personal training here in Burlington. "We believe in doing everything possible to get our communities to embrace a healthy and fit lifestyle, and we believe in giving back by helping people."
Pushups for Charity was launched in 2010 and has raised over $250,000 for charities worldwide. In 2011, the intention is to at least double that figure.
"This year we are doing a Pushups for Charity Challenge," Modrell says. "Regular Joe's and Jane's are competing to see who can do the most pushups in 90 seconds. All Burlington area residents are invited to participate - the more the merrier."
"We want people to realize they can exercise at any age and they can also do pushups. It's a great way to get fit, have fun and make a difference," says Modrell. "Everyone is welcome to join us regardless of current fitness level. There is a variety of pushup suitable for any individual 8 to 88 years old. If you don't think you can do a pushup come on out and we will show you how."
