Dr. Karen Sherman Appeared on "Living Consciously" TV Show
Dr. Karen Sherman and three other relationship experts discussed what relationships needed in order to be function more consciously.
Plainview, NY, June 14, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On June 11, on Cable channel 26 in Denver, Dr. Karen Sherman and three other relationship experts appeared to discuss what is needed in order for relationships to function consciously. In the "Living Consciously" Show, the perspectives covered were young adults, those in troubled partnerships, parents and children, and those who are recovering from an ended relationship.
All agreed that in order for partners to have a more conscious relationship, it was necessary to be authentic and present. Dr. Sherman believes that "too many people are living on 'auto-pilot' and are not really connected to themselves." She continued to say that "if you are disconnected from yourself then you end up looking for a co-dependent relationship with the idea that someone else will complete you."
The panelists further agreed that this cycle continues from parent to child and then repeats. Therefore, it is important that each person take it upon him or herself to become more conscious.
Unfortunately, most people are afraid to make change and only do so when something drastic occurs in their lives. Dr. Sherman encouraged others to take action now rather than waiting for something drastic to occur; she hoped that "by noticing the positive gains made by the panelists and others who have made this type of shift, people would be more likely to do the same."
