Attention Talk Radio, the ADHD Information Station, Presents "ADHD Awareness Week," Sponsored by the ADD Coach Academy
In support of ADHD Awareness Week, five special editions of Attention Talk Radio will air nightly at 8 pm ET starting Monday, October 17, and concluding Friday, October 21.
Tampa, FL, October 06, 2011 --(PR.com)-- In 2007, the US Congress passed a resolution that brought about ADHD Awareness Day to help increase acceptance and awareness of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder – ADHD. The initiative has evolved into a weeklong program that is scheduled for the week of October 17, 2011. In support of ADHD Awareness Week, five special editions will run on Attention Talk Radio. The shows will air nightly at 8 pm ET starting Monday, October 17, and concluding Friday, October 21. The show lineup is as follows:
* Monday, October 17: ADHD expert Dr. Ned Hallowell shares what is going on in the ADHD community that excites him, including diagnosis, treatment, the ADHD community, advocacy, public perception, and help for those with ADHD.
* Tuesday, October 18: David Giwerc, Master Certified Coach and founder of ADD Coach Academy, discusses his book "Permission to Proceed: Creating a Life of Passion, Purpose and Possibility for Adults with ADHD."
* Wednesday, October 19: Dr. Michele Novotni discusses the ADHD Awareness Week story. She spearheaded the lobbying efforts that established the first National ADHD Awareness Day. She shares how she and others at the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) pulled it off without being professional lobbyists.
* Thursday, October 20: ADHD Master Certified Coach Barbara Luther and Dr. Ari Tuckman, clinical psychologist, share their insights on understanding the differences between ADHD coaching and ADHD therapy, as well as the advantages and benefits of each.
* Friday, October 21: Michael Skoien of Shire Pharmaceuticals and Robert Tudisco of the Edge Foundation discuss the establishment of Shire’s ADHD Scholarship Program for individuals diagnosed with ADHD to pursue secondary education programs. In this unique program, recipients receive $2,000 towards tuition funding and one year of free ADHD coaching.
