Winter Blues Are in Full Swing
New York therapists instruct a workshop to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression or winter blues, a mood change that affects people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year.
New York, NY, January 31, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Are you feeling down, sad, lethargic or simply very tired? You're definitely not alone. An estimated 10-20 percent of the U.S. population suffers from winter blues, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), also known as winter depression or winter blues, is a mood change that affects people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year, but experience depressive symptoms in the winter. Symptoms of SAD may include feelings of depression and fatigue, increased need for sleep, decreased levels of energy, and weight gain.
Brought together by JasminBalance, leading New York based therapists will instruct a Winter Rejuvenation Workshop on February 11th, 2012. The first Winter Rejuvenation Workshop is designed to ward away winter blues through a three hour intensive course to help relax, invigorate, restore motivation, and lift the spirit.
The Winter Rejuvenation Workshop will tackle winter blues in a group setting, with the course split into five sections: Body, Mind, Heart, Spirit and Alignment. Within the session, JasminBalance therapists will teach the participants how to reconnect with themselves on every level, so that they feel balanced, clear, empowered and uplifted.
JasminBalance takes a unique approach to therapy, combining traditional psychotherapy, life coaching and eastern practices, such as mindfulness and meditation. As Jasmin Terrany EdM., M.A, LMHC, founder of JasminBalance says, "Your inner workout‟ is just as (if not more) important than your outer workout. We don‟t expect our bodies to be fit without some effort and intention, but we often don‟t realize that our inner space requires the same upkeep."
This winter, learn to “Awaken Your Essence, Access Your Truth and Empower your Spirit” with the warm, open, supportive JasminBalance Team. Online registration to the workshop is open as of today, and early birds receive a special discount before January 31st, 2012.
