OKC Health and Wellness Group Free Fit for Life Health Expo

Oklahoma City, OK, March 09, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Join them at a free Fit for Life Health Expo organized by the OKC Health and Wellness Group (non-profit) and the University of Oklahoma. This free health event will be held at the UCO Wellness Center in Edmond beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday April 28, 2012. The physical address for this free event is 100 N. University Dr. Edmond, OK 73034. Take the 2nd St. Exit off I-35 and head west or follow Broadway Extension to 2nd St. and proceed east to University Drive.

This free community health expo will feature family favorites including: free and low cost health screenings, spine and stride evaluations, AAA car seat inspections, fitness demos with the OKC RiverSport rowing coaches, an indoor bounce house for the kids, nutrition booths, motivational speakers from Mayor Mick Cornett’s OKC Million challenge and a kids basketball exhibition game.

Special to this year’s event will be a family fun run sponsored by Red Coyote running and fitness and a Boys and Girls Club basketball exhibition game and special Earth Day incentives and give-A-ways. Winners of the fun run will receive free running shoes from the Red Coyote. Other valuable prizes will be given away throughout this event.

This free health expo is structured to raise awareness for families and help with disease prevention for Oklahomans. More than 25 booths with volunteers will display information, provide free, tastings, fitness sessions and low cost health screenings for guests. Local experts will be available throughout this all day event to answer questions about health related issues.

Children with parents are encouraged to check out the action on the basketball courts, weigh the amount of sugar in their snack foods at the Sugar Shack and get some exercise in the bounce house. Boys and Girls Club of America will begin their hoops exhibition at 11 a.m. Local Speakers start at 1 p.m. And don’t miss out on a voucher from the health fair for free gas at the pump from Bob Moore KIA of Edmond.
