A Virtual Walk for a Cause

Pittsburgh, PA, May 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- KiND Walk is a virtual walk for any cause, any time. By using a USB pedometer and online tracking program, individuals, and corporations can now add new meaning to a voluntary or group sponsored wellness program.

Teams first choose the cause or program to sponsor in which to raise funds or donations, and then select the distance and ultimate destination in the US, Canada, Mexico & Europe. While wearing pedometers throughout a normal workout or daily activities, participants remember to log or upload daily steps to track and view their progress via an interactive web portal sponsored by their employer, community, or member organization. Groups utilize a “Pledge Hub” in order to collect fund raising donations, ticket sales to sponsored events, as well as communicate details to their employees, clients, customers or members. Sponsors of a KiND Walk are recognized on the corresponding “Pledge Hub”, as well as communication material and social media networks. Online friends and followers are the ongoing cheering squads, spectators, and audience for the simultaneous awareness and fund raiser walks performed nationwide throughout the year.

This concept was created by Pink Power Ladies & Pink Power Lads, a national elite group of insurance professionals dedicated to helping individuals and groups protect against financial devastation due to cancer and critical illness diseases. The “Pink Power Team” hopes to revitalize overall corporate wellness initiatives by adding significance through an interactive daily philanthropic activity.

The individual participant registration fee begins at $18.00 a year, including special group pricing for employer groups and organizations. Pink Power Ladies & Lads are planning a national walk for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® for the month of October, 2012. Registration begins June 1st, 2012.
