Charlotte Personal Trainer Offers Charity Bootcamp for Children’s Cancer Research

Charlotte, NC, May 22, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Julie Sawyer, personal trainer in SW Charlotte, will offer a charity bootcamp workout at The Palisades Sports Complex on June 9th at 10 AM to fund research for CureSearch, a children’s cancer research foundation.

Sawyer is teaming up with Kelly Ewing, family friend of Noah Mayberry, and 11 year-old who lost his battle with cancer in December, plus a couple of other local moms whose families have been also been stricken with childhood cancer. These women will be participating in the Ultimate Hike, which is a 28.3 mile adventure on the Appalachian Foothills Trail. The hike raises money for CureSearch, a national foundation that funds and supports children’s cancer research and provides information and resources to all of those affected by children’s cancer.

Sawyer, owner of Tuff Girl Bootcamps, has been offering charity bootcamps for a couple of years as a way to give back to the community. Her goal is two-fold: to motivate the community to become more active and to help local families in need by offering fun workouts that support their cause. Sawyer said, "I’m honored to be able to contribute to such a worthy cause by doing what I love, educating others on how to exercise safely and effectively and motivating families to lead healthy lives."

The bootcamp workout will be open to the public and will be for all fitness levels and ages, including kids 14 and over with a minimum donation of $10 per person. Sawyer will be running the workout and will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Ultimate Hike for CureSearch.

To participate in the charity bootcamp, report to the grass court at The Palisades Sports Complex by 9:45 AM on Saturday, June 9th, and bring a water bottle. Workout will be indoors if it rains. You do not have to be a member of the Palisades to participate.
