Jump Around with Entertainment Production Company as They Partner with FFIT Nonprofit to Create Series of Fun Fitness DVDs for Kids
DVDs Will Encourage Exercise, Promote Healthy Living, and Raise Awareness for Childhood Obesity
Los Angeles, CA, June 15, 2007 --(PR.com)-- On the heels of the successful debut of DVD entitled The Comedy Kids, www.comedykidsweb.com, The T Rose Company, a California based entertainment production company, has partnered with FFIT (Fathers, Families in Transition) to produce the Jump Around! Fitness for Kids™ DVD series. FFIT is an Illinois human service community based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose focus is connecting and reconnecting fathers with their children, while creating healthy, strong and more responsible relationships.
The hour-long DVD will present a multicultural group of children between the ages 6-11. Its main focus is to get kids from a sedentary state into a more active state by using fun exercise routines, creative movements, breathing techniques, and hip music. The goal is to raise awareness and prevent the increasing number of obese children in the United States and globally.
Production Highlights:
- Eric Dean Seaton, NAACP Image Award nominee will direct the video. Seaton also serves as one of the directors of Disney’s wildly popular show That’s So Raven starring Raven-Symone.
- Mimi Bloom, affectionately known as “Hip Hop Mimi”, noted youth entertainer and health guru will be the DVD’s primary fitness instructor. Also an NAACP Image award nominee, Bloom is the musical composer on several tracks for the Jump Around! Fitness for Kids DVD.
In keeping with the motto “through the eyes of a child,” the production team has enlisted several nonprofit organizations for youth to participate in the making of the DVD. The DVD will feature a public service announcement addressing the current childhood obesity epidemic and emphasizing a prevention-focused action plan to decrease the number of obese children and youth.
“As an adult reminiscing, I remember when kids were much more active and not as sedentary” said Tiffany A. Rose, former actress, President of The T Rose Company, and producer of Jump Around! Fitness for Kids. “Motivating children to become active can help improve their health in their adult years. The Jump Around! Fitness DVD is designed to stimulate the imagination of children’s, creativity, expression and freestyle, through movement and physical activity,” she states.
Experts agree that exercise is the best answer for obesity. Studies show that children who are overweight are more prone to develop heart-disease, diabetes, depression, and they are more likely to have other health related problems. According to the National Institute of Health, approximately 30 percent of children between the ages 6-11 are overweight and roughly 15 percent in that same age group are obese.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the DVD will be donated to several charities whose primary focus is raising awareness for the overall health of children.
