Harmony on the Farm is about Harmony, a young girl, who spends an ideal day on her Granddad’s farm befriending cows, chickens, pigs, and turkeys. Harmony and her Granddad roam around the Farm naming all the new babies who were born on the farm. In the story’s pivotal moment, Harmony and her mother go shopping for groceries, and, while in the meat section, Harmony learns that meat comes from the same animals she just befriended and named. With this knowledge, Harmony and her mother turn toward vegetarianism and the world of foods available to them.
Harmony on the Farm is one of the few vegetarian-themed children's books on the market today. The story helps children to understand where our food comes from and what our food choices mean to our environment and personal health. About the Author: After becoming vegetarian over 4 years ago, Sean experienced a radical change in his own health and consequently developed a deep interest in researching and understanding the vegetarian philosophy and lifestyle.
