Las Vegas, NV, July 01, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The Doska Project Sarcoidosis Awareness Organization (an Outreach of R.A.M. Ministries, Inc.) is a new organization based out of Las Vegas, which was founded by a patient of the disease. She has built the organization out of her lack of support and many frustrations throughout the years with being misdiagnosed and outdated medical information. The organization is to raise funds to put towards research, resources and awareness in Nevada and across the nation to allow all who suffer a more knowledgeable medical understanding along with many more resources and information that can be used to help deal with the multi – systemic disease that it is.

The Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research has an informational brochure which offers an insight to the disease and also gives those who don't know anything about Sarcoidosis a basic understanding of the illness. They have also placed many public ads and have participated in media interviews to help make the public aware that this is a very true and debilitating disease and not just a hard name to say when asked.

Sarcoidosis (pronounced SAR-COY-DOE-SIS) is a potentially fatal inflammatory disease that can appear in almost any organ in the body. Although the lungs are affected in more than 90% of patients, the disease often attacks the heart, eyes, central nervous system, liver and kidneys. The cause remains unknown and There Is No Cure. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease which can affect any organ or system in the body. This disease causes the body’s immune system to over-react, forming granulomas or groups of cells (nodules) that attach to other tissues and organs in the body, affecting normal function. This multi-system disease affects people of any age, race or gender and is debilitating and potentially fatal. 4 out of 20,000 people are diagnosed today with Sarcoidosis and that number is on a steady incline. There are no known causes and no cure.
