ForeWord's Best First-Fiction Shortlist Announced
For the past fourteen years, ForeWord has been at the forefront of discovering new authors. ForeWord Firsts is the debut fiction competition highlighting the best and brightest first-fiction titles from self-publishers, indie and small presses.
Traverse City, MI, July 20, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Finalists for ForeWord Firsts’ Spring 2012 competition were announced today. ForeWord’s debut fiction competition showcases the best of today’s first-fiction authors.
“Our debut fiction competition spotlights and honors great books that deserve more attention,” said ForeWord Reviews Publisher Victoria Sutherland. “We’re seeing more mysteries, romance, and science fiction titles submitted each quarter—all with strong storylines and solid editing.”
First-fiction titles, published between January-March of 2012, were eligible for judging. Self-published authors and small presses representing debut novelists were invited to submit titles.
ForeWord’s panel of editors reviewed the selection of submitted titles and named the following finalists:
The Agriculture Hall of Fame by Andrew Malan Milward (978-1-55849-948-5, University of Massachusetts Press)
Atlas Drugged: Ayn Rand Be Damned! by Stephen L. Goldstein (978-1-55571-709-4, Hell Gate Press
Coming Out Can Be Murder by Renee James (978-1-935766-28-5, Windy City Publishers)
