The Gift of Health Symposium in OKC

Oklahoma City, OK, October 13, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Despite the fact that Oklahoma consistently ranks in the top 5 most obese states in the nation, Oklahomans are making big strides in living healthier lifestyles. Education and access to convenient opportunities for living well are what drive these improvements here in Central Oklahoma.

The “Give Yourself the Gift of Health Expo” is a women’s health-forum event designed to educate Oklahomans on the benefits of prevention through nutrition, exercise and health screenings. Brought to you by, the OKC Health and Wellness Group in conjunction with the Rockwell Plaza YMCA. The forth annual women’s health fair and symposium will be held Saturday, December 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Rockwell Plaza YMCA, 8300 Glade Ave. off the NW Expressway at Rockwell. Enter just west of the Target store. Guests are admitted free.

This free health fair is open to the public and will feature presentations from Dr. Jill Hast, Chief Medical Officer at Comprehensive Diagnostic Imaging an expert on advanced digital body imaging and advanced care will discuss the importance of early detection in the case of breast cancer prevention. Additional presentations include: Good Nutrition Supports Hormone Balancing with Dr. Mary Schrick, Naturopath at the Full Circle Health Clinic in Edmond and the Third Opinion Radio Show on KTLR. Tony Greene, DC will discuss a short session on how to tackle low back pain. This family-friendly expo will be co-hosted by the Rockwell Plaza YMCA.

There will be booth displays demonstrating holiday cooking, body slimming and skin care facials, fitness classes with the Y staff and the Oklahoma Breast Care Center will be giving digital mammography on site for those that pre-schedule by calling 1-800-422-4626.
