Former NFL Player Desires a Family Atmosphere for His Sports Complex - Grand Opening of Proehlific Park Fitness Center

Greensboro, NC, February 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- As Ricky Proehl walks around the Park he built on Horse Pen Creek Road in Greensboro it's hard for him to believe it's been nearly 5 years since he opened the doors. Proehlific Park is a special place for Ricky; one where mentoring children and making a difference in the community is his passion and priority. "I wanted a place where kids could play and feel safe. I wanted to create an environment where our coaches are teaching kids life skills, discipline and excellence through sports." Proehlific Park is that special place; a place where kids find a home away from home, a place to chase their dreams.

Ricky is excited about the newest addition to Proehlific Park. While the Park has always concentrated on recreational and travel sports and programming for kids in the community, now it's the perfect place for the whole family, "I kept hearing moms and dads saying, I wish there was a place for us to workout, Ricky said, so we invested in the Park and created a brand new 18,000 square foot Fitness Center designed just for adults."

The Adult Fitness Center opened in September, but the Park is celebrating its Grand Opening this month by offering membership specials that will only be available for a limited time. The Park's Director, Jessica Williams says, "We are excited about the response the community has shown us so far. People are surprised when they tour the new gym and see all we have to offer." The New Fitness Center has all new state of the art weight equipment; a group exercise studio, cardio center, and studio for spin classes as well as beautifully decorated men and women's locker rooms each with a sauna. The smoothie bar and lounge has free Wi-Fi and is a great place to hang out after a workout. "It's a comfortable environment," our members to reach their fitness goals as well as a place for them to visit with friends and other members."

Diane signed up with one of Proehlific Park's personal trainers when she joined the new fitness center in October. She has lost more than 30 pounds, two dress sizes and is excited about her results. "I received a full health assessment when I joined the Park which helped me understand why I had hit a plateau. I've always been intimidated by other gyms. I felt right at home from the moment I walked in."

Tom King has been a member at Proehlific Park since it opened in 2008. Both of his children play sports at the Park and he's thrilled with the new gym, "I love the adult fitness center. It's all state of the art equipment. I never have to wait to get on a machine. Trainers are great and knowledgeable and the locker rooms are beautiful. What I also love is that my membership here gets my family access to the entire Park."

Proehlific also offers adult leagues such as soccer and flag football on its 70 by 40 yard indoor turf field. There is also a men's basketball league and pick-up sports throughout the day are also popular.

Ricky and Jessica are planning a Grand Opening Event for February 9th, 2013! "We want it to be a great time for people who come and celebrate with us.
