Parkway Laboratories and Sengenics Enter Into an Exclusive Partnership to Provide Pioneering Genetic Tests in Singapore
Biopolis, Singapore, April 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Sengenics, a leading genetic diagnostics company and Parkway Laboratory Services, the premier private laboratory services provider in Singapore, and part of the Parkway Pantai group, the largest private healthcare provider in the region, announced today that they have entered into an exclusive partnership to provide cutting-edge genetic tests in Singapore.
The partnership will focus on providing the Sengenics CardioSURE Heart disease genetic risk test and Sequenom's MaterniT21 PLUS non-invasive pre-natal diagnostic test that covers Trisomy 21, 18 and 13.
To date, most genetic tests are based on Caucasian genetic markers, whereas CardioSURE is based on the concept of "Asianised Diagnostics." This is essentially the incorporation of disease-specific markers from Asian ethnic groups as well as those from Caucasian and African populations.
