Raleigh, NC, May 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The John Rex Endowment, a local foundation committed to supporting an environment where children and families in greater Wake County live healthy lives, announced today the launch of its five-year plan, Our Plan for Impact, 2013-2018. The plan details four funding areas -- Healthy Weight; Injury Prevention; Mental Health, Social and Emotional Well-being; and Nonprofit Capacity Building – as well as five specific goals and related strategies. In the process of developing the five-year plan, the foundation leadership acted to ensure its mission reflected the work detailed in the plan, as well as its guiding principles and overarching strategies.
“We are tremendously excited to embark on this new phase for the foundation,” stated John Rex Endowment President and CEO Kevin Cain. “This five-year plan holds the promise to change the environment in which children grow up in Wake County. It is our hope and intention that projects implemented with this plan will bring lasting change that continues to nurture our county’s children well beyond five years.”
Cain emphasized the involvement of the community in the plan’s development and going forward.
“We couldn’t have created this plan without the involvement and perspectives provided by individuals and organizations across Wake County,” he explained. “Their participation was a critical element of our planning, which led to the selection of the funding areas and the development of our goals and strategies. We will continue to rely on and encourage their engagement, as we all work together to bring about the greatest positive change for Wake County children.”
Armed with a clearer understanding of the John Rex Endowment’s funding goals, organizations that desire to work with the foundation can now create their own growth and project plans with greater knowledge of its funding interests.
