Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh Chooses Meals on Wheels as President’s Project
2013-2014 Inducted President, Ashley Rain Chooses Meals on Wheels as Club Focus
Raleigh, NC, May 30, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Ashley Rain, a long-standing member of the Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh, was inducted as President for the 2013-2014 club year. Ashley has been a dedicated member with the Junior Woman’s organization since 2007 and has contributed countless hours to the Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh and many of the club projects that take place each year serving the local Raleigh-Durham community. Ashley has served in appointed positions such as Vice President of Club Operations 2011-2013, Recording Secretary, Chaplain, Awards Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Homelife CSP, and Social Chair.
Each year, the Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh President chooses a local organization the club will focus their work to help make a difference in the community. This year, Ashley has chosen Meals on Wheels as the President’s Project. “The elderly have always been near and dear to my heart and knowing that our club could have a meaningful impact on the problem of senior hunger is important,” says Ashley.
Meals on Wheels of Wake County was formed in 1974 and has been providing nutritious meals to the homebound elderly and persons with disabilities in Wake County in an effort to improve health, reduce isolation and prevent unnecessary institutionalization.
The Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs is part of the world’s largest and oldest nondenominational, nonpartisan international volunteer service organization for women. The diverse club membership includes singles, spouses, students, professionals, working mothers, and moms who stay at home. The Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh continues to serve our community through meaningful programs and projects.
