The Georgia Diabetes Coalition Will Recognize Their National Supporters & Sponsors
Health care aliments such as Diabetes affect over 17 million Americans. Each year, it is reported that 1 million new cases are diagnosed. The Georgia Diabetes Coalition helps these Americans adjust to their diagnosis and live normal lives. On October 3rd, 2013 their unified voices will be heard at the annual Community Awards Reception.
Atlanta, GA, August 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Georgia Diabetes Coalition (www.GDCToday.org) is an established non profit organization positioned to serve people affected with Diabetes. Every year the complications of Diabetes not only affects the physical well-being of these individuals but also their quality of lives. On Thursday October 3rd, 2013 at 5pm, the organization will host its annual Community Awards Reception "Denim & Diamonds" in The Silverbell Pavilion inside the Emory Conference Center Hotel located at 1615 Clifton Road Atlanta, Georgia 30329.
National and local community supporters as well as sponsors will be acknowledged during the annual reception for their commitment to addressing the needs of these individuals, and supporting preventative strategies. Diabetes affects over 17 million Americans ranging from birth to elder years. In 2008 the Americans with Disabilities Act was amended to redefine "disability"and include Diabetes. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recently reported the average cost to individuals diagnosed with Diabetes incur an average annual expense of no less than $13,700. In addition to this, employers are losing an estimated $20.5 billion from reduced and lost of productivity.
Supporters like former NFL player for the Pittsburgh Steelers and diagnosed diabetic, Mr. Kendall Simmons will speak at the "Denim & Diamonds" annual Community Awards Reception on October 3rd. He'll discuss how organizations such as the GDC and a dedicated medical team helped him to effectively manage his aliment and remain on the field until his scheduled retirement.
