Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuit Update: Federal Court Selects Bellwether Trials for Boston Scientific Lawsuits, Rottenstein Law Group LLP Reports
New York, NY, September 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin in West Virginia recently selected four transvaginal mesh lawsuits for the first bellwether trials in the federal consolidation of cases (otherwise known as a “multidistrict litigation”), according to court documents. The Rottenstein Law Group LLP, a vaginal mesh law firm, encourages those interested in more information on mesh lawsuits and side effects to visit its Vaginal Mesh Lawsuits Center.

The first trial for the four lawsuits is scheduled to begin Feb. 11, 2014, and the second on June 17,* according to court documents (In Re Boston Scientific Corp., Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation; MDL-2326, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia).

“We are pleased that these cases are moving along in federal court,” said Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group LLP. “These bellwether trials are important because they will give plaintiffs and the defendant a better idea of the trajectory of future cases.”

There are more than 10,000 lawsuits consolidated into the multidistrict litigation, which allows for efficiency in pretrial matters such as evidence gathering.** According to court documents, women are filing vaginal mesh lawsuits alleging they suffered adverse side effects such as erosion, pain and severe discomfort.

The Rottenstein Law Group LLP encourages those who believe they have suffered from the alleged side effects of their transvaginal mesh implants to visit the firm’s FAQ page at http://www.vaginalmeshlawsuitscenter.com/the-most-frequently-asked-tvm-questions/?=faq for quick answers to questions about mesh harms and lawsuits.
