South Florida's Youfit Health Clubs Opening 60th Club Nationwide
Deerfield Beach, FL, December 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- South Florida-based Youfit Health Clubs is about to achieve a major milestone – the opening of its 60th club nationwide. And by happy coincidence, the 60th club will be opening here in South Florida.
Youfit was started five years ago by Rick Berks, a successful entrepreneur (and South Florida native). It’s now one of the fastest-growing companies in the fitness industry, with gyms currently located in Florida, Arizona, California, and Georgia, and clubs soon to open in Texas, Colorado, and Tennessee. The 60th gym will be opening in mid-December, at 801 Congress Ave. in Boynton Beach. And it will be the company’s 20th in South Florida.
Berks’ business model is the opposite of traditional health clubs. There are no long-term contracts (you pay by the month). No intimidating bodybuilders or “gym rats” (the clubs aren’t designed for them). No pressure to join (no salespeople!). And no carbon footprint. In fact, these may be the “greenest” gyms in America - the floors, for example, are made of either recycled tires or Nike “grind” (recycled sneakers).
“I’m always amazed when people tell me they’d need to get in shape before they’ll walk into a club,” Berks says. “That’s not what exercise should be about. It should be fun, and it should be in a non-threatening atmosphere. Our philosophy is to build a different kind of club, without the trauma and drama of the usual health club.”
Berks’ philosophy is to build clubs where “you” will “fit” right in. And to charge the lowest prices you’ve ever seen for a first-class fitness operation.
“We’re proud of our Florida heritage,” Rick Berks says. “It’s largely because of Florida that we were able to reach the 60-mark so quickly. We’re creating new businesses here in Florida – and across the country - and new jobs. And we’re creating them in an environmentally-friendly way.”
Berks is a successful entrepreneur with a colorful story, and he’s opening clubs around the country at the rate of more than one a month.
