Dana Point, CA, May 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Orange County Wing Chun school, The Dragon Institute, is offering a new Intro to Wing Chun course starting Monday, May 19th.

What’s more, students will walk away with the foundations necessary to build real-world self defense application, as well as tools that can be used to improve every aspect of their lives.
An art known for its close-quarters combat prowess, Wing Chun is taking Orange County by storm lead by local martial arts school, The Dragon Institute. Directed by local Wing Chun expert, Adam Williss, the school is attracting students from cities all over the county. It has consecutively been voted “Best Martial Arts in Orange County” by local experts on CityVoter’s OC Hot List.
Wing Chun is now more popular than ever thanks to a series of movies featuring its grandmaster Ip Man – the master of Bruce Lee. Since 2008, several award-winning Hong Kong movies have received international success turning more and more people onto its uncommonly relaxed ferocity.
Different from other types of martial arts, Wing Chun specializes in practical self-defense rather than tournament-based competition. It is considered unsurpassed by many self-defense authorities due to its close-quarters efficiency, no-nonsense directness and constant forward pressure.
“The art teaches you how to immediately turn the tables on an attacker,” said Adam Williss, founder of The Dragon Institute. “Wing Chun looks at an aggressor’s attack as an opportunity to puts them on the defensive and instantaneously smother additional attack.”
It’s used by the Chinese Army as well as hundreds of military, self-defense experts & law enforcement agencies around the world including the US Navy Seals, FBI, CIA, French RAID and German SEK.
The Dragon Institute, with locations in Dana Point and Irvine, specializes in the art of Wing Chun. The school offers classes for all ages including adults, kids (ages 5 and up) and Wing Chun-based Qigong.
