Decatur, GA, August 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- UQuest: The Urban Competition heads to Nashville, Tennessee on August 23, 2014. UQuest is a race through downtown Nashville that’s part obstacle course, part scavenger hunt, and part unknown. Nashville's vibrant downtown filled with local businesses, public parks, and active people make it a great location for the competition. UQuest will launch and end at Joe's Crab Shack located at 123 2nd Ave S.
UQuest features teams of two to four people in an urban setting competing in mental and physical challenges in a race against the clock. The winning team gets to take home a cash prize and the most valuable prize of all: bragging rights for years to come.
Expect the unexpected from UQuest. This urban adventure will have you climbing rock walls, walking balance beams, launching balls from giant slingshots, solving clues, completing missions, improving and so much more. Local businesses like Takes 2 Fitness, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, and Mother Pumper will be hosting challenges within the competition.
“You’ll need to bring your brain and your brawn to conquer these challenges,” said UQuest founder Anthony Murph. “But don’t worry,” he adds. “This competition is suitable for various levels of fitness and abilities. Walk, jog, or run it's your choice. You get to create your own experience.”
UQuest premiered in Atlanta, Georgia, last year with a race through the city’s Midtown neighborhood. Around 300 participants faced challenges such as the “Riddle of the Rockwall,” "Can U Sling It," "Hydrate the World," bootcamp style challenges, a little improv and clues solved only by visiting neighborhood landmarks. As Valarie Hinsley wrote in Obstacle Racing Media, “in comparison to other races or events I have participated in, none of them come close to the uniqueness” of UQuest.
