Over 200 Residents and 50 Needy Beneficiaries Expected to Benefit from Free Health Checks at Community Health Day
SATA CommHealth, a community healthcare provider and social enterprise will provide an opportunity to all Bedok and Chai Chee residents and needy beneficiaries from various community partners to receive free health checks this Sunday. The checks offered range from basic and specialised health checks at its Community Health Day (CHD) event.
Singapore, Singapore, August 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Beginning in 2011, this is the fourth time Kembangan-Chai Chee residents have had an opportunity to monitor their state of health. The CHD event will take place at SATA CommHealth Uttamram Medical Centre located at 351 Chai Chee Street as part of its steadfast aim in promoting lifelong health and serving the community. Mr Seah Kian Peng, Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC graced the event as the Guest-of-Honour.
During this half-day Sunday event, the participants receive a range of complimentary basic health screening tests and specialised tests at a heavily subsidised price. At this holistic health screening event, they will get to benefit from either a pre-physiotherapy assessment, an eye test (visual acuity and tonometry) or other general health checks consisting of chest X-Ray, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol tests. A tonometry test measures the fluid pressure in the eye, commonly known as Intraocular Pressure (IOP). This test is used to check for glaucoma, an eye disease that can cause blindness by damaging the nerves at the back of the eye.
