The Gateway Family YMCA Extends Free Zumba in Rahway

Rahway, NJ, September 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Due to community excitement and popularity, The Gateway Family YMCA –Rahway Branch is extending the free weekly Zumba class, held at the Rahway Train Station Plaza every Wednesday evening at 7:15pm through October 29th. Free weekly Speed and Agility classes will also be offered every Monday evening at 6:00pm through September 29th. In case of inclement weather, these classes will be held at The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving Street, Rahway. Lindsay Sudia, Membership Engagement Director of The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch added, “The extension of these classes was based on high participation along with a request from Mayor Steinman. Our instructors and members have also been enjoying the change of scenery!”

“The Gateway Family YMCA strives to provide programs that promote healthy activity and movement,” stated Gerry Gessie, Branch Executive Director at The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch, “By offering these programs free of charge in a unique location; we feel that the YMCA can benefit the health of the larger community.” These programs were planned in partnership with Livewell Rahway, the City of Rahway and Mayor Samson D. Steinman.

The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch is in the midst of a large-scale 16,938 square foot renovation, expanding the programs and services offered to the community. “At the Y, we are joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility,” added Ed Soder, Associate Executive Director at the Rahway Branch.
