UQuest Urban Adventure Race: A Competition with a Cause

Urban Adventure Race returns to Midtown Atlanta on September 27 and now features service project for participants.

Atlanta, GA, September 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- UQuest Urban Adventure Race returns to Midtown Atlanta on September 27. UQuest is part obstacle race, part scavenger hunt, and part unknown. This year UQuest is excited to partner with Trees Atlanta to offer a service project as part of the competition. Trees Atlanta is dedicated to protecting Atlanta's urban forest and UQuest teams will take on a challenge to assist with this commitment.

UQuest has also teamed up with Concrete Jungle to offer a challenge that will educate participants about this creative organization that provides fresh, local produce for the homeless. UQuest believes in community, active living, and imagination. These ideas shine throughout the competition. In order to stay connected to the community, UQuest works with Community Bucket, a social service group that acts as a liaison between UQuest and community organizations like Trees Atlanta and Concrete Jungle.

UQuest features teams of two to four people competing in mental and physical challenges in the city as they race against the clock. The winning team gets to take home a cash prize and the most valuable prize of all: bragging rights for years to come.

Expect the unexpected from UQuest. This urban adventure will have you climbing rock walls, walking balance beams, launching balls from giant slingshots, solving clues, completing missions, improving and so much more. Local Midtown businesses like Ra Sushi and Big Peach Running Store will be hosting challenges within the competition.

“You’ll need to bring your brain and your brawn to conquer these challenges,” said UQuest founder Anthony Murph. “But don’t worry,” he adds. “This competition is suitable for various levels of fitness and abilities. Walk, jog, or run it's your choice. You get to create your own experience.”

UQuest premiered in Atlanta, Georgia, last year with a race through the city’s Midtown neighborhood. Around 300 participants faced challenges such as the “Riddle of the Rockwall,” "Can U Sling It," "Hydrate the World," boot camp style challenges, and clues solved only by visiting neighborhood landmarks. As Valarie Hinsley wrote in Obstacle Racing Media, “in comparison to other races or events I have participated in, none of them come close to the uniqueness” of UQuest.
