A marketing consultant / yoga teacher has put her career on hold to develop a digital resource intended to help lift Yoga’s profile as a credible part of integrative medicine. YogaMate.org and its complementary apps, aim to create better health and well-being through Yoga. The site, (anticipated to launch in November, 2015) is seeking industry experts to feature.
Melbourne, Australia, July 03, 2015 --(PR.com)-- YogaMate envisions a world where Yoga has the power to create better health and well-being for everyone. Ann Marie Johnston, YogaMate’s creator, is developing the platform to help expand understanding around the depth and breadth of yoga, in particular, its health benefits and its therapeutic application. "My aim isn’t about helping Yogi’s fit into a smaller size of jeans, or to increase their flexibility, per se," states Ann Marie, "rather, I aspire to help lift yoga’s credibility and expand the community’s understanding of Yoga’s real powers to heal mind, body and spirit. Having personally benefited from Yoga (in healing my depression), I feel it’s my duty to share Yoga’s power with others."
Being guided by a team of Australia’s Yoga pioneers (Leigh Blashki, Michael Di Manicor & Eve Gryzbowski), YogaMate will provide tools and resources that assist, promote and better connect Yoga Professionals to their communities. There will be a particular focus on helping further the understanding of the depth and breadth of Yoga, particularly in relation to Yoga’s therapeutic application.
One of the ways the resource will do this, is by highlighting Yoga ‘Health Benefits’ (i.e., Yoga for Asthma, Yoga for Breast Cancer) that have had their efficacy clinically proven. YogaMate will also provide a free directory to assist communities in finding and connecting with local teachers and therapists who have specialized in niche therapeutic areas.
In developing the site, YogaMate is seeking to feature Yogic industry experts from around the world, who represent their specialty as the industry leader for their niche. The site will feature health benefits in six categories:
· General Health and Well-being (i.e., Yoga for Stress Relief, Yoga for Upper Respiratory Infections)
· Pain, Injury & Trauma (i.e., Yoga for Stroke, Yoga for Paralysis, Yoga for Sciatica)
· Chronic & Autoimmune diseases (i.e., Yoga for MS, Yoga for Fibromyalgia)
· Mental and Emotional Health (i.e., Yoga for Anxiety, Yoga for Depression)
· Women’s Health (i.e., Yoga for Fertility, Yoga for Endometriosis, Pre & Post Natal)
· Special Interest Groups (i.e., Yoga for Seniors, Yoga for Kids, Yoga for Curvy people)
Each health benefit will have its own page featuring the industry expert and their example of yoga practice for this health benefit, plus links to scientific journals and blogs relating to said health benefit. Furthermore, wishing to give back, YogaMate will feature yogic charities aligned with each health benefits in addition to gifting 15% of profits to aligned charitable Yogic not-for-profits.
