Hippo Sweat: All Natural, Vegan Friendly, and Reef Safe Sunscreen Available Through Kickstarter

San Diego, CA, September 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Tired of crispy lips and a rosy glow that would make Santa Claus blush, unhappy with conventional sunscreens, Hippo Sweat was created with the idea that simpler could be better.

Hippo Sweat was inspired by a natural sunblock used by local surfers in Indonesia. It was made with simple ingredients and it worked pretty well but there was room for improvement. Over the next 3 years, Hippo Sweat was developed and tested until both coverage and durability were the best. The goal was to create a sunscreen with simple, natural ingredients with protection that would work as long as you could, with no detrimental effects to the environment. Just like that, Hippo Sweat was born.

Whats new:
Satisfied with the natural zinc recipe, the company aimed to create a sunscreen lotion that was easily spreadable and offered the same level of coverage. Already on a roll, we thought, why stop there? Using aloe vera to calm a sweet burn has been around for centuries, so came along a lotion blend of aloe and witch hazel, designed to help soothe and replenish your skin after a long day in the sun. Then came the lip balm. Using agave nectar as a base, we came up with 5 unique flavors to moisturize your lips to a luscious finish.

Wheres the money going:
Due to regulations set forth by the FDA, sunscreen testing is a serious business and we are insistent on keeping up on the latest trends. We have also been looking into a formulator so that we can move production and distribution out of our kitchen and into a professionally run facility thereby increasing the quality and consistency of Hippo Sweat products.
