Lexington KY Nonprofit Closes Its Doors

Lexington, KY, September 28, 2015 --(PR.com)-- In the August meeting of the Board of Directors, Executive Director and founder of Lamplighters of America, Rebecca Sowell says, “The decision was unanimous to close the nonprofit.” She went on to say, “It is with great sadness and excitement to see what comes next for the Healthy Loving Leads to Healthy Minds program.” Sowell authored and copyrighted the cutting edge psychoeducational program for leaders in children’s lives in 2013. The non-profit launched in June of 2013, and the first educational program was taught in March of 2014. Sowell went on to say, “The Healthy Loving Leads to Healthy Minds program was conceived and written to empower parents with knowledge on child development and how their own stress impacts their ability to lead in the life of their child.”

Sowell’s calling to the profession of nursing 25 years ago was just as strong as the desire to develop and impact a parent and their child through health education. Sowell continues to seek the right organization to help grow the Healthy Loving Leads to Healthy Minds program because she knows from her own experiences that education and awareness is the key to taking our leadership in the lives of our children to the next level. Sowell said, “The biggest factor preventing parents from seeking educational programs to learn more about their leadership in the lives of their children is facing their own fears.”
