Brookfield, WI, October 07, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Matrix IT, Medical Tracking Systems LLC, a Wisconsin based company has announced plans to unveil the new TRACTUS hardware revision at the 2015 NASS 2015 show in Chicago, IL. The new sterile scanner has the capability of capturing and electronically uploading UDI data from data matrix codes as small as 0.25mm^2*. The new scanner is coupled with a non-sterile scanner and software that captures all medical implants. This product ensures that key stakeholders are able to comply with the recent FDA Final Rule on UDI. The software is also capable of sending data not only to the electronic health record (EHR) of a patient, but can also integrate with upstream and downstream software and inventory management platforms. There has also been a developed feature, allowing hospitals to run recall audits on implanted inventory.
Chief Strategist Brandon Donnelly was quoted as saying: "We work with the supply chain companies and specialists to provide them with an unrivaled competitive advantage. Not only does the patient win by having immediate access to their implant data, but this provides a quick and easy way to simply close the chain of custody. The software can also be modified for any operating room environment, language, or end user preference. All of the data being collected gives hospital administrators and supply chain professionals with a deep insight into operating room efficiency and implant utilization statistics to boot."
The new sterile scanner will be smaller, lighter, and works in the sterile field. This allows for a quick, easy, wireless solution to data capture and validation. Part of the design alteration was after extensive research from industry leaders and associations. TRACTUS can additionally integrate with any EHR system in 30-45 days*. To watch the generation one scanner in action, the video can be viewed by going to: https://youtu.be/bkbe02ck8V0. The TRACTUS platform is capable of scanning data matrix, bar, stacked bar, and GS1-128 codes. The system connects to the GDSN and GUDID for always accurate part data, and the software intelligently updates in the background. The product is meant to supplement existing supply chain protocols and systems, while still ensuring UDI compliance.
