Colorado Premier Basketball Club Joins Nike and the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL)

Denver, CO, October 08, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Colorado Premier Basketball Club has announced they have accepted an offer to become a nationally sponsored Nike club. Colorado Premier is the first youth basketball program in the Rocky Mountain region to be sponsored by the world’s greatest sports brand, Nike. In addition to the sponsorship, the Premier girls program has been recognized as one of the top 32 clubs in the nation and will participate in the Nike Girls Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) beginning in 2016.

Keith Van Horn, Executive Director of Colorado Premier Basketball Club, said, “It is an honor to have our club be sponsored by Nike and I am so excited to have our girls participate in the top youth basketball league in the nation, EYBL. Tony Dorado, Nike’s National Manager for High School Basketball, outlines the intent and focus of the Elite Youth Basketball League: “Nike's reason for establishing the Girls EYBL is aligned with our overall goals for girls’ basketball: we want to help improve the girls' game and provide opportunities for girls to be seen by colleges to improve their chances of receiving a scholarship. We feel that a league with something to play for increases the importance of games during the summer which will improve the quality of games.”

Colorado Premier, which was established in 2012, already boasts an impressive list of players who have committed and signed to play at the college level, including former Gatorade State Players of the Year Robbi Ryan (Arizona State University) and Diani Akigbogun (University of Texas).

Tryouts for 2016 Colorado Premier Nike EYBL players will begin in March, and invite only EYBL workouts for prospective players will be held November through February. The Nike EYBL workouts will be ran by former NBA player and Colorado Premier Executive Director, Keith Van Horn and other Colorado Premier staff coaches.
