Red Carpet Event Will Unite Hispanic Celebrities Who Support Ya Basta – a Non-Profit Created to Bring Awareness to Abuse Against Women in Latin Communities

Miami, FL, October 13, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Top Hispanic celebrities have come together for Ya Basta, a nonprofit organization founded by TV & Radio personality and host Jenny Patrizia, to film the first ever PSA on abuse against women in the Latin community. The nonprofit organization was created to bring awareness to domestic abuse against Hispanic women. The PSA was organized to send a clear message that this type of abuse is not acceptable and to empower Hispanic women in abusive situations to seek help.

Over 30 celebrities and influential media personalities came together to film the profound and impactful PSA. Participating celebrities include; Victor Camara, Ricardo Chavez, Liliana Rodriguez, Gabriel Porras, Elluz Peraza, Samy, Carlos Mata, Carluka Suarez, Julio Gassette, Raul Izaguirre, Eunice Nevares, Carlos Gastelum, Carlos Garin, Hector Fuentes, Luis Alfonso Borrego, Eduardo Ibarrola, Guadalupe Hernandez, Danella Urbay, Jessica Fox, Mikhael Ricks (NFL), and many others to be announced soon. G-Lab Studios filmed the PSA at no charge, to support the cause and Elisa Rosas (PR Director of Hola Latino Magazine) helped cover the event. El Arepazo, famous Florida restaurant owned by Luis Schilling, provided food for the celebrities and crew during the tapings as a gesture of support for the cause. The PSA and its chosen theme song "Let It Go," sung by Samantha Camara, are both expected to be released and make its debut by the end of 2015 inside Kitchen 305 in Sunny Isles Beach.

The debut for the PSA will be held during a red carpet event where all the celebrities as well as the public will be invited to attend. Jenny Patrizia, who experienced domestic abuse first hand as a child, had this to say, "It is time to bring the Hispanic community together to stand up against the violence and encourage and empower Hispanic women to finally say enough is enough! They need to know that it is not okay and that there is a way out. They have to realize that they have a voice and they have the right to use it. Words cannot express how honored I am that so many celebrities have come together to support the cause! Domestic violence is very prevalent in the Hispanic community and has been for decades. It is just as serious as it is in other ethnic groups, however, Hispanic women face particular obstacles and challenges when it comes to addressing domestic violence (as it is simply accepted in many cases). Hispanic women require culturally and linguistically specific services and resources in order to adequately address the problem, which is why Ya Basta was formed."

Even Actress and Singer Liliana Rodriguez weighed in by commenting that she supported "Ya Basta and chose to unite with other top celebrities to do the PSA because one voice can be silenced due to fear or self-denial, but many voices coming together will be heard loud and clear and will make a statement to bring change."

Television and Film star Ricardo Chavez is also very passionate about the cause. “I took part in the Ya Basta PSA because I am outraged by the number of Hispanic women that face abuse in their everyday lives,” Chavez stated. “Domestic violence is something that affects me profoundly. Any type of Abuse on women is a cowardly act, which is why I joined other celebrities in hopes of empowering women so they will know they are not alone.”

Another well known TV star, Gabriel Porras added “I chose to be part of Ya Basta’s PSA because I felt it is our societal responsibility for those of us who are in the media to use our voice for a cause that is greatly affecting our families. Any form of Domestic violence is completely deplorable and therefore I felt I needed to use my voice to speak up on behalf of women everywhere.”

The Red Carpet event will be held not only as a platform to debut this historic PSA video but to gather the Hispanic community in hopes of raising awareness to the damaging effects domestic abuse brings to women.
